How It Works

Skip-the-line passes explained

The Short Version

At Disney parks, every ride has a standby line (the regular queue everyone waits in). Disney also sells skip-the-line passes that let you use a shorter, faster queue — but they cost extra money. The question is: are they worth it today? That's what this app helps you figure out.

Two Types of Passes

Lightning Lane Multi Pass

A daily pass that lets you skip the line on multiple rides throughout the day. You pick your first ride and time window, then after you use it, you can book the next one. Think of it like a day pass for the express lane.

Individual Lightning Lane

A per-ride, per-person purchase for the park's most popular rides — the ones NOT included in Multi Pass. You pay separately for each ride you want to skip the line on. These are the headliners like Tron, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

How to Buy

Important: Pro Pro Park Guide helps you decide if a pass is worth it. All purchases happen through Disney's official My Disney Experience app.

1

Open My Disney Experience

Download Disney's official app if you haven't already. You'll need a Disney account.

2

Check today's price

Multi Pass pricing changes daily based on demand. Today's price is $37.00 per person. Our Calculator can help you decide if it's worth it.

3

Pick your first ride & time

Choose a ride and a return time window (e.g., 10:00–11:00 AM). You'll go to the Lightning Lane entrance during that window.

4

Use it, then book the next

After you use your first pass (or the window starts), you can book your next ride. Keep going throughout the day.

When Is It Worth It?

Probably worth it when...

  • Crowd levels are 3 or higher (moderate to packed)
  • You have young kids who can't handle long waits
  • It's a holiday or weekend (peak pricing but also peak crowds)
  • You only have one day and want to maximize rides

Probably skip it when...

  • Crowd levels are 1–2 (low — most waits under 20 min)
  • You're on a tight budget (for a family of 4, Multi Pass can be $60–$160/day)
  • You're visiting for multiple days and can spread rides out
  • You plan to arrive at rope drop (first hour has short waits)
